A photo circulating online claims to show US President Donald Trump slurping spaghetti while King Charles III delivered his speech at the Windsor Castle state banquet on September 17, 2025, during Trump’s official visit to the UK.

The post, which has garnered over 6.7 million views on X, quickly went viral and sparked humorous reactions.

Fact

Distorted Image Features Suggest Alteration

On close inspection, Trump’s facial features in the viral image appeared unnaturally distorted compared to others in the frame, which is a common sign of digital manipulation. Running the image through Fake Image Detector flagged it as computer-generated or modified.

Official Menu Had No Spaghetti

A BBC report (September 17, 2025) described the Windsor Castle banquet as “a glittering feast with speeches, royal toasts, trumpet fanfares, and fine dining.” The published menu included:

• Hampshire watercress panna cotta with Parmesan shortbread and quail egg salad
  
• Organic Norfolk chicken ballotine wrapped in courgettes with thyme and savory jus
  
• Vanilla ice cream bombe with Kentish raspberry sorbet and poached Victoria plums
  

Similar reports by CBS and CBC on September 17, 2025, confirmed the same menu. There is no mention of spaghetti being served at the state dinner, according to the media reports.

Video Evidence Contradicts Claim

A video titled “The King’s Speech at the US State Banquet” uploaded by the official British Monarchy YouTube channel (September 18, 2025) shows Trump listening attentively to King Charles and at no point is he eating. Also, at the 00:59 mark, a wide shot reveals that none of the plates, including Trump’s, had food during the speech.

Lead Stories and the Hindustan Times also fact-checked the viral image, confirming it was fabricated and did not depict real events from the banquet.
