Video shows huge waves crashing over the Gateway of India as the recent bout of heavy rainfall wreaks havoc in Mumbai.

A reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral clip led us to a YouTube post by The Global Exhibition, dated July 23, 2021. It featured the same clip, confirming that it does not depict the current situation in Mumbai.
Further, we found that the viral clip was also shared on YouTube channel ‘NS Now’ on May 19, 2021, linking the flooding in Mumbai during Cyclone Tauktae. Another YouTube post DJWebSolutions from May 2021 featured the same footage to show the impact of the cyclone.
Cyclone Tauktae, an extremely severe cyclonic storm (ESCS), hit Mumbai in May 2021, with multiple outlets reporting on massive inundation around the Gateway of India, along with other areas, in the city. Such reports can be seen here, here and here.

We were not independently able to ascertain whether the viral clip shows the impact of the 2021 cyclone in Mumbai or not. However, we could establish that it is old and unrelated to the recent bout of incessant rainfalls in Mumbai.
