Neha Singh Rathore Assaulted By Delhi Police? No, Here’s The Truth Behind Viral Claim

Video shows Delhi police personnel assaulting folk singer and political commentator Neha Singh Rathore.

A keyword search for “Neha Singh Rathore,” “Delhi Police” and “thrashed” on Google did not yield any credible reports on the alleged incident.

We then looked up the keyframes of the viral clip on Google Lens which led us to a Reddit post by India Today, dated August 13, 2025. Carrying the same video, it stated, “At Delhi’s Connaught Place, protests erupted against the Supreme Court’s recent stray dog order. Among those detained, an activist was filmed being slapped by a female cop inside a police bus.” 

An Instagram page @straysofdelhi_ shared the same video, along with others, showing the police crackdown of protesters agitating against the SC order on stray dogs.

A video of the incident from a different angle, clearly showing the face of the women activist, was shared on YouTube by The Edge Originals on August 14, 2025 in a “ground report” on the protest against the SC’s recent order in New Delhi.

On comparing the woman seen in the YouTube video with a recent image of the singer, we could conclude that they are two different individuals. 

We also came across an X post by Rathore, dated August 14, 2025, which featured a video of her clarifying that the viral claim is false, and that she was safe at her home.

Hence, the viral posts, alleging that Neha Singh Rathore was assaulted by the Delhi Police, were found to be false.
