Fact Check
Video showing a record turnout during Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar.
The archived version of the post can be seen here.
Newschecker ran a reverse image search of keyframes, which led us to this Instagram reel by @ecitymirror, dated July 5, 2025, well before the ongoing rally for voter rights that began on August 17, 2025.
Similar posts can be seen here, here, here and here, stating that it was from the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, Odisha, which took place on June 27, 2025, with other key rituals before and after the event.
A comparison of a couple of screengrabs from the viral video (right) with the old footage (left) confirmed that the viral clip was not from the ‘voter adhikar yatra.’
Although we could not exactly ascertain the date of the viral video as we found excerpts shared on Instagram before this year’s yatra on June 9, we can confirm that it predates the ongoing Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar.
Also, a comparison of the temple structure and street seen in the video (above) with the image of the Shree Jagannatha Temple on its official website and Google Maps images of the area (both below), which was traced to Puri Grand Road, confirmed that the video showed the Jagannath Rath Yatra procession in Puri.
