Old Video Showing Passenger Live Streaming From Within An Aircraft Linked To Ahmedabad Plane Crash

Facebook live stream captures the exact moment before the Air India aircraft crashed in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025

A Google Lens search on the keyframes of the viral clip led us to an X post by @jaganbimal, dated January 15, 2023. It featured the now viral clip, and stated, “LIIVE video by an Indian passenger before a few moments of plane crash in Nepal – total 72 passengers died ‘ 4 Indians were going to Pokhara for paragliding,” confirming that the video is not linked to the recent Air India p lane crash in Ahmedabad. 

We also found a YouTube post by Mojo Story, dated January 16, 2023, displaying  a longer version of the same clip. “Nepal Plane Crash Video: Four Indians were killed in the plane crash in Nepal on January 15. All 4 were reportedly live on Facebook minutes before the aircraft crashed while landing in Pokhara. They hail from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur district. A clip has now surfaced online, said to be an excerpt from the Facebook Live done by one of these passengers. In the clip, the aircraft is seen taking a turn and then bursting into flames,” it stated.

Carrying snippets from the same video, a Facebook post by India Today, dated January 16, 2023, stated, “An Indian passenger on a flight that crashed in Nepal on Sunday, killing at least 68 people, captured the exact moment of the fatal incident on Facebook Live. Watch the harrowing video.”

Hence, we find that an old video from Nepal has been falsely shared as the “moments before” the Air India plane crashed in Ahmedabad.
