Kerala Police cadets replacing “Jai Hind” with Islamic slogans.
The video does not show Kerala Police. It shows members of the Muslim Youth League’s Arangadi unit in Kasargod marching during Mawlid — a Muslim holiday that celebrates the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.
A viral video shows uniformed men marching and chanting Islamic slogans. Social media posts claim these are Kerala Police cadets replacing “Jai Hind” with Islamic slogans. One such post on X (formerly Twitter) stated in Hindi:“The situation in Kerala is extremely worrying. Kerala Police Cadet, instead of Jai Hind, they are saying Jai Hadisam. The police are raising Islamic slogans.”

A reverse image search of video keyframes led to an Instagram reel posted by the account @arangadi_official_page.
Another video shared on Pachapada Arangadi’s Facebook page on September 6 also mentioned Nabi Dinam (Mawlid). Both posts confirm the clip is linked to a religious celebration, not police activity.The same video was captioned as part of Milad (Nabi Dinam) celebrations.
Kerala Police’s Media Centre deputy director, S.R. Praveen clarified to Newschecker that the men were not wearing police uniforms. Instead, they belonged to a local Islamic organisation.
The volunteers are part of Pachapada Arangadi, linked to the Muslim Youth League in Arangadi, which is in Kasargod, Kerala. We contacted Azzi Arangadi, secretary of the Muslim Youth League in Arangadi. He confirmed that the viral video was recorded during this year’s Mawlid rally in connection with Nabi Dinam and has nothing to do with Kerala Police. We have fact-checked similar volunteer marches of Pachapada Arangadi being shared in misleading context in the past.
