‘Udaipur Files’ Actor’s House Set Ablaze? No, Viral Video Is Of Unrelated Incident In Colombia

Muslims set fire to the house of a person who acted in the upcoming movie “Udaipur Files.”

Newschecker did not come across any news reports about such an act of arson related to the release of the film.

We then ran a reverse image search of keyframes, which led us to the same video shared on Instagram on July 5, 2025, by El Silencioso, a news outlet based in Colombia.

“Community sets fire to police station after young man dies for alleged police error: A tragic day was lived in the Nazareth corridor, Uribia (La Guajira [located in Colombia]), after the police ended the life of Yulbert Barboza, a young man returning to his land. According to witnesses, the uniformed mistook the pickup they were traveling in with another that had been used in a previous attack on officers…. The reaction was not expected. Outraged, villagers sprayed petrol and set the police station on fire. Videos show heartbreaking scenes, flames consuming the facility, screams, confusion and a community marked by tragedy,” read the post, translated from Spanish.

We also came across this X post sharing the video, posted on July 5, 2025, reiterating that the local residents of Uribia (Alta Guajira) set fire to a police station after officers, in an alleged mistake, killed Yulbert Barboza, a young man who was driving a pickup truck similar to the one used hours earlier in an armed attack on the police force, sparking confusion.  

Colombian news reports on the incident can be seen here and here, further confirming that the viral video is not from India nor is it related to the ongoing controversy over “Udaipur Files.”
