Google CEO Sundar Pichai confronted US President Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit. Trump allegedly belittled India on the global stage, triggering a “bold response” from Pichai.
The post is fake. There is no record of any such exchange between Trump, Pichai, and Jaishankar at WEF.
A viral Facebook post claims that Indian-origin Google CEO Sundar Pichai confronted US president Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit, with India’s external affairs minister S Jaishankar also present. The social media post has gone viral on the heels of the Trump administration’s recent hike of H-1B visa fees to $100,000.
However, Newschecker found no evidence of such an exchange, and the claim traces back to a fictional YouTube video.

Newschecker conducted a keyword search for “Trump Pichai Jaishankar WEF” and found no credible news reports of the alleged confrontation. The official programme of the WEF Annual Meeting (January 20–24, 2025), held in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, shows that Donald Trump did not attend in person. Instead, he delivered a virtual address on January 23, 2025. In his remarks, there is no evidence of him making derogatory comments about India.
A YouTube video uploaded on August 23, 2025, titled “Trump Tried To Corner India On Global Stage — Jaishankar And Pichai’s Response Stunned The World” appears to be the source of the viral claim. There was a disclaimer in the description, calling it “altered or synthetic content.”
The video was published by the channel Lit Narrator, which clearly states in its description and channel bio that its content is fictional and created for entertainment purposes only. The disclaimer notes that “any similarities to actual persons or events are purely coincidental,” which further confirms that the viral post is based on synthetic, dramatised content, not a real incident.
