And with ongoing FIFA WC in Qatar, sports related misinformation continued to thrive on social media platforms. Ever since the news of skirmish between Indian and Chinese Army in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang broke on Monday, social media platforms have been swamped with posts praising the valour and courage of the Indian army. Several social media users are sharing a video, claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently offered prayers at the Sabarimala temple in Kerala. Last week Croatia stunned Brazil on penalties and secured a spot in the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. In this background, a video showing a band performing on the street, surrounded by a sea of people hopping and singing in chorus is going viral on social media. Those who shared the footage claim it shows the “Croatians (Croats) celebrating their entry into the semi finals…!” Newschecker found the claim to be untrue. A viral post claims that Infosys co-founder Sudha Murty stepped down from the board of the Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanams and the uncle of AP CM Jagan Reddy, YV Subba Reddy, has been appointed as the chairman of the TTD is being widely shared on messaging platform WhatsApp, along with the claim that Subba Reddy is a Christian evangelist. A video has gone viral on social media in which a speaker is heard addressing a crowd about the immediate response to be carried out during the event of a heart attack. Demonstrating the “heart safe position” to seat an individual who has just suffered the heart attack, the speaker claims that the patient, if given ginger to chew upon, will be safe.
