Video Showing PM Modi Praising Jesus Christ Is Manipulated Using AI

The video shows PM Narendra Modi praising Jesus Christ while addressing a huge public gathering.

A Google Lens search on the keyframe of the video led us to a post on the official YouTube channel of Narendra Modi, dated June 3, 2022, featuring the Prime Minister’s speech during a public function in Paraunkh, Kanpur. The video showed PM Modi in the same attire and background as seen in the viral clip. 

We skimmed through the entire video but did not find any instance of the Prime Minister making the remarks shown in the viral clip. The transcript of PM Modi’s address at the event, too, did not contain any such comments. 

On carefully analysing the clip, we found that the Prime Minister’s lip movements appeared unnatural and the lower jaw portion seemed blurred/smudged. 

We checked the viral clip on AI detection tool Deepware which found it to be “suspicious.” 

Newschecker then ran multiple segments on the audio of Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector which, too, concluded them to be “likely deepfake.” AI audio detection platform Resemble.ai also termed the voice as “fake.”

Hence, we find that the viral video claiming to show PM Modi praising Jesus Christ is manipulated using AI.
