A total of 265 seats were contested in Thursday’s election.The Election Commission of Pakistan began announcing results on Friday with media reportedly showing a close contest between Nawaz Sharif-led PML-N, Bilawal Bhutto’s PPP and Imran Khan’s PTI-backed Independents.

Newschecker ran a reverse image search of the photo, which led us to this Facebook post by Imran Khan’s official page, dated October 14, 2018, stating Prime Minister Imran Khan had cast his vote in the NA-53 constituency earlier today.
The same photo was posted by his party PTI’s Facebook page, confirming that it was an old photo being shared as recent. We also came across this news report from Pakistani media outlet 24News HD, dated October 14, 2018, stating that Khan had cast his vote for the by-elections that took place across Pakistan on October 14, 2018. We also learnt that Khan on Thursday had cast his vote for the 2024 general elections by a postal ballot from Adiala Jail.
